Red Demon Peper Musk（赤おに）

Oni” in Setsubun (February 2) is a Buddhist demon that has been considered to be a source of misfortune, living in the hearts of those who have strong desires and worries. The Setsubun bean-throwing ceremony is held to drive away these ogres in order to bring in good things (blessings) and to wish for good health and good fortune for the year ahead.

 

節分（2月2日）の「おに」とは、煩悩や欲望を強く持つ人の心に住み着き、災いのもととなる存在と考えられてきた仏教の鬼です。節分の豆まきでは、この鬼を追い払うことで、良いもの（福）を呼び込み、一年の無病息災を願います。
